Web and Technology

Our team develops and maintains the technology necessary to support a growing volunteer community and the conferences that this community produces. If you are comfortable programming and willing to help, we need your help. Our current and future projects include:

  • Database customization and support: Our IT systems help support the day-to-day running of the organization by dozens of volunteers across the Greater Los Angeles metro area. We need skilled programmers and project managers to ensure that our IT goals are achieved. Technical skills required: PHP, mySQL.
  • Web content oversight: Our website plays a crucial role in representing the organization to the public. We need writers and editors to partner with the marketing team and help maintain website content and related email communications. Technical skills required: none.
  • LimmudPod: Producing LimmudPod, LimmudLA's weekly podcast, requires the assistance of multiple volunteers willing to meet with and record presenters, manage the scheduling of podcasts, edit and post the podcasts, and write the brief synopses that accompany each podcast. Technical skills required: none; familiarity with HTML and audio editing helpful.
  • Conference recording: Our team needs to ensure that we obtain a full audio recording of the presentations at our annual conference. This includes procuring portable digital recorders, scheduling and training volunteers to record all events, uploading and cataloging post conference. Technical skills required: none; familiarity with HTML and audio editing helpful.
  • Conference network administration: IT management of LimmudLA’s conference requires a team to work with the venue’s IT staff, and help set up and manage a mid-size local area network, large volume printers, wireless support, and guest kiosks throughout the facility. Technical skills required: network administration, general IT support.
